This book began interestingly enough in the Prologue, but quickly began to feel like a combination of so many other fantasy series, I almost got bored. The storyline, fortunately, picks up and while the feeling of "same ol' same ol'" never truly goes away, the plot is original enough to keep the reader interested. The characters tend to be a bit stiff but towards the end round out well enough. I am interested in seeing where the series goes.
