  • Discovered the author and Ms Dalhousie by chance. A very original character and witty dialogues by the way... Makes very pleasant reading and good preparation for a trip to Scotland.

  • Isabel Dalhousie is a woman in her early forties, lives in Edimburgh, is single and well bred, but more than this she's a philosopher...
    A sophisticated comedy, with the usual humour and grace that McCall Smith never spares.
