There's one simple word to define this book: FUN!!!
Every single page is filled with such fine humor that even if sometimes the paradoxes can prove "a little bit" hard to swallow, never mind, you won't stop smiling, as well as appreciating all the citations from SF Masters and most famous Characters.
At any rate, I'll have to re-read it sometime in the future, as I'm not sure I've fully understood the final...
But one thing is sure enough: according to the Author himself, he (the Author) is cruel, mean cruel. To be hated and despised (read until the end and you'll understand what I mean).
Also, a pretty tough test for non-english mother tongue readers, the slang is estensively used.
Ah, I wouldn't be surprised if Dan Simmons hadn't taken some little ideas from here for some of the side aspects of Endymion saga.
