Well Salinger writes about a potential serial killer, but i don't think that this book is such a masterpiece.
A novel about a very cynical teenage boy despising the adult world (which he says is full of phonies) and refusing to grow up. He likes to isolate himself from his peers but is also in need for connection - he got in touch with a few of his old friends within the few days he got kicked out from school. He wanting to be the catcher in the rye also points to the fact that he wants to protect children from falling off the cliff, to stop them from reaching what he perceives as undesirable things in adulthood.
The symbolism is good. Otherwise, the story is not interesting.

Mi sono immedesimata in Holden Caufield, in questo libro vengono esaltati gli anni dell'addolescenza, la voglia di crescere ma allo stesso tempo cercare anche un rifugio nei ricordi dell'infanzia...
