  • The middle was really drawn out and the constant babelling about plots and manipulation and all that with nothing actually happening was pretty boring. The end picks up quite nicely though and has got me interested in reading the next in the series now.

    也因此，本集基本上就是各方大鬥法的局面。你利用我，我算計你， 仙拚仙，拚死猴齊天，喜歡看權謀鬥爭的看得就很爽。儘管看到最後 書閤起來仔細思考發現外掛開最大的那位非（後、超......隨 人用）人類其實應該可以樂勝的（話說回來，他的轉變過程也夠驚世 駭俗），但 Herbert 巧妙的安排讓大家看起來都能勢均力敵地參上一角，整個劇情走向也 不至於過度傾斜。

    洪凌之前提到兩個重點，Paul 是偽神、Alia 是魔王，不過這一集中來了個「真神」，於是這兩位自然就沒戲唱了 。另外本系列對女性角色也確實「不友善到靠北靠姆」，Jessi ca 老身出馬結果算不過別人；Alia 變魔王也沒比較厲害，轉變過程還完全被比下去；平平是雙胞胎，G hanima 升級就慢爆多；Irulan 一樣是花瓶，更不用提那位被流放後就忘記她名字的 Corrino 老媽。

    不知道是我太敏感還是怎樣，看到 Leto II 和人舌戰與自省的話語總讓我聯想到後 New Wave 革命後（也差不多是本書撰寫的時候）科幻如何突破過去（甚至包括 New Wave 本身），重新建立多元新價值的過程......

The sand-blasted world of Arrakis has become green, watered and fertile. Old Paul Atreides, who led the desert Fremen to political and religious domination of the galaxy, is gone.
