  A lovely gentle absorbing read I became throughly immersed in the lives of everyone at 'Ottercombe.' I have been reading Marica Willett's novels since 1995 and always enjoy them. Before coming to live in Italy I was always up to date with her latest novel and am now trying to catch up with missed titles. I was therefore delighted to be able to sign up for this Bookring for The Children's Hour 2003. My only gripe about the story was that, for my liking there was too much detail about the canine characters, sometimes over a page at a stretch.
