Like a lot of other best sellers, China Price verifies a common knowledge with some personal investigation. It is no news that China's low price is changing world's landscape of mercantile, nor is it secret that cheap products were churned out at the expense of environment pollution, labour rights abuse and safety hazards. What the book did, is to follow the story line in the mainstream western media, add flesh and blood to the story structure, then aha, here comes another China basher.
The book is not without any merits though. The discussion of the government dilemma in enforcing more stringent regulations brings the reader to the core of the problem, instead of repeating the game of pointing fingers....Continua
