  This is quite a long book (600+ pages of smallish print), but it's well-written and quite user friendly. It has a good bibliography for further reading recommendations. I'd recommend it as a starting point for anyone interested in Ancient Greece and Rome (or anyone who wants to fill in the blanks and see how everything links together). I'm reading it all the way through, but it is the type of thing I'll hang on to and dip into to check things in the future.
