A complete book about road running. It covers races from 5k to full marathon, offers training programs for these races at different competitive levels. The age-adjusted 'standards' is valuable as runner ages and find himself, like myself, having to set realistic goals. It has all kinds of helpful tips and regimes from pre-, in- and after race eating and drinking, to psychological preparedness, auxiliary exercises, and sports injuries.

It has been with me since I started to run 15 years ago and it is still the most useful companion. The only draw back it that its uncompromising approach to running. I wish it had include some tips for those who, like me, cannot run six days a week to prepare for the next marathon.
