  Youth is wasted on the young.

  The first quarter of this volume is my favorite part. Then we read about young Roland. A fine story but I'd have preferred much more of the new ka-tet traveling.

  With the exception of the old first one, this is the best book in the Dark Tower so far. Roland's story is just great and his old companions far more interesting than his new ones.
