This is an early novel of J.G.Ballard written back in 1962 and marked his emergence as a major writer of our times. Having read some of his more recent novels I was delighted to find this one at the OBCZ in Writtle. Have been looking forward to reading it and did so in just two sessions(only 175 pages). I found it a somewhat spooky and eerie story in parts feasible if one considers global warming,about a flooded tropical London.
