forse perché già mi aspettavo qualcosa di diverso, avendo letto il primo libro, the sword of shannara, questo libro non mi è dispiaciuto affatto! anche la storia era più mossa e i personaggi più veri e interessanti... fatto sta che è volato via! bello!

    2013 REVIEW

I've gone back to my first exposure to The Elfstones and I'm happy to report that the book is just as awesome as when I read it as a 12-year-old for Grade 7 English class. This puts the nail on the coffin on the matter of whether the recent Shannara books have dropped in quality or it's just that my young impression of the early books in the series were off the first time I read them; it's the former. But I guess you gotta give the guy a break - he did keep his series fresh and interesting till around the 10th book in my opinion at least, and that's a pretty incomparable feat

    ----------------------------
The first book I ever read from my favourite series of all time, a novel study in Grade 7. I've never read any fantasy except this Shannara series; I don't really think it is my thing, but Shannara is wicked. I've read every one since.

Start with the first book, the Sword of Shannara though. Highly recommended.
