  • After reading this again ten years and ten books in the series later, I find that the first six hundred pages are just as good as I remembered. That said, I had forgotten how uselessly bombastic the ending is, which is almost enough to spoil the whole thing.

  • Ah, and it started out so well... All right, so I stopped after the third book. There is just far, far too much going on in this series to keep up with, especially given the length of time between each book.
