This is yet another one of Koontz's best. He has the wide array of unusual characters in a tale that is out far to the left of normality. With a knack for making the unbelievable believable, his strange characters become favorites quirky favorites that gain your heart. Separately they are a little too unreal, but when he blends them together, as he does, to take part with each other and the tale, they become very real and sensible. This is a true Koontz talent and one I wish he'd pursue a lot more often.
