After the mesmerizing "Lake of the dead languages" this is only the second book by Mrs Goodman that I manage to read, but I've got all the others lined up now! Anyway, I was again positively impressed by the rich and vivid writing syle, which is never banal and employs an above average vocabulary; not to mention the latin references as well as hints at characters and facts from the past. The "Ghost Orchid" is actually a book within a book, with two parallel stories intertwining page after page until the finally merge in the last chapters. The supernatural element is what makes me adore such books and it's presented in a very skillful way. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more by this author!
