Another good Rebus novel
I do rather like Ian Rankin - despite the genre not being one of my favourites. WW2 criminals, East European gangsters and the relationships between Rebus and his family - a pretty cracking read!

Good as usual. Rankin carries on in his mission of regularly demolishing Rebus's life only to let him try to build it back again...

So far this is one of the best Rebus' novel I've read, maybe the best one. John struggling in his professional life, but his personal one is worse (Sammy in trouble again...and Jack...). I think is one of the milestones of the series.

I love Rankin's Rebus series but his style is so dark. Too much razor blades and horrific knife injuries.
