An incredible fiction! Spent me only a few hours to finish it off but I was totally absorbed in the world so full of nonsense and absurdity Bulgakov displayed in his book. Just imagine a dog becomes more and more human after being on an operation of implantation of a dead man's testicles and pituitary gland, and even finds himself a job and citizenship (in the old Soviet society)!
Also I've accidentally found a site having some of Mikahil Bulgakov's works, including this book, and I think someone might want to check this out: http://www.lib.ru/BULGAKOW/dogheart_engl.txt
Explore the absurd world yourself! :-]
