Kind of a stange little book. It's a theme I've seen several times before, albeit in later novels, so perhaps that takes away some of its punch for me. The language is occasionally beautiful, though the translation seemed rather clunky and forced to me. Some reviewers have praised it, but it seemed to me that the translator was trying to preserve the French at the expense of the English. I guess I should learn French to better appreciate it. Classic, with a very well-known theme. Brother and sister lock themselves into their home, more or less, playing 'The Game'. They draw in a boy and a girl who become increasingly fascinated - one might say obsessed - by the brother and sister duo.
