A beautifully written and easily digestible novel about the randomness of chance - being hit by lightning (literally!), and what happens after. It's interwoven with themes of chaos theory, fate, polar opposites and magnetic attraction, wish fulfilment, damaged psyches and healing. Wonderful.

I have been meaning to read something by Alice Hoffman for a long time. The first time I saw Jodi Picoult speak she mentioned that Hoffman was her favorite author.
