Not quite Rebus, but...

I have read all of Ian Rankin's books and am always pleased to see more from him.
It was inevitable that Rebus had to retire, but he left some big shoes to fill. Malcolm Fox and co. do a reasonable job, and the Impossible Dead, is not a bad read. The ending felt a bit rushed and some of it seemed t ... (continue)

I have read all of Ian Rankin's books and am always pleased to see more from him.
It was inevitable that Rebus had to retire, but he left some big shoes to fill. Malcolm Fox and co. do a reasonable job, and the Impossible Dead, is not a bad read. The ending felt a bit rushed and some of it seemed tenuous. Some of the supporting characters - Fox's sidekicks Kaye and Naysmith, his sister have a larger role this time but are a bit 2 dimensional.
If you want to start reading Ian Rankin, start with his Rebus series, although if another Fox book comes out, I'll still be reading it.
