  • The Lady and the Unicorn

While not as captivating as The Girl with the Pearl Earring, this book returns the author to her forte - blending fact and fiction to reveal one possible story behind a work of art.

  • Not as good as Tracy Chevalier's other books. I was disappointed. The worst part is when the blind character feels her future husband's face and exclaims that he has a pointed chin, just like her cat. Do cats have pointed chins? What??

It is also very interesting how the author describe the art of tapestry, I almost wanted to borrow more books to understand more of it.

We read this for book group. Nicholas so not a likable character. The blind girl is though and I was so pleased she didn't have to marry the awful chap and instead got a man who loved her. Very interesting information on tapestry making instead

This book provides a fascinating look at tapestry making at the end of the 13th century. It is told by numerous character perspectives and all of the chapters are very strong. I became quite attached to these individuals and I wish we could have seen more of them! The theme of the novel is desire and Chevalier cleverly weaves her plot into the famous tapestries, making you believe that this is how it actually happened.
