Seagy from fledgling to motherhood and the lessons she learns. The story was an idea from two true incidents. The first where a seagull had become hooked on an abandoned line, although it did not happen in Torquay. The author did, however, have occasion to rescue a bird in such a plight while walking on the quay at Freemantle, Australia. The second incident occurred while the author was clearing a roof of seagull eggs while working for Torbay Hospital at their then Headlands Home. The author was requested to carry out the task and did, in fact, have to borrow a motorcycle helmet from a gardener.
