Passionately embraced by booksellers, reviewers, and readers throughout America (and around the world), THE LOVELY BONES is a work at once compelling and startlingly fresh-a novel that builds out of a family's grief the most hopeful and joyful of ...
Loved this book, surprising and full of emotions. A chapter may bring you to tears, then you turn the page and it makes you laugh hard... I liked the way Alice Sebold described the feelings of Susie and her family, I could feel them in my body as if
..." they were mine. The only thing that left me slightly disappointed was the last chapter with just a quick part on Susie's murderer. But as the book reminds us, life goes on.Continua...Nascondi
It was a story about the after-death of a teen girl named Susie. The case was not solved and no body except the elbow was found. The Salmon family, including parents and younger sister Lindsey and brother Buckley, all went through a very sad time
..." missing her. Susie, who was still concerned about her family and friends and could not let go, watched the daily movement on the Earth from her heaven. To see how her family got broken and then reunited. To see how the murderer escaped from here to there uncaught. Towards the end, Susie realized that although she wanted her dad to come to her so badly, she could not take him from the family members because they also loved him as much. Susie also had a chance to go back to the “boyfriend” for a short time to relive the joyful moment through a mysterious classmate who could see the dead.
The book was long, and it focused more on the feeling of each one rather than the happening or the murder case. I would not say it was exciting, but it touched you spiritually.
"“Susie,” my mother said, bracing up under the weight of it, a weight that she naïvely hoped might lighten someday, not knowing that it would only go on to hurt in new and varied ways for the rest of her life."Continua...Nascondi

..." and turmoil that a family goes through and about connections that individuals maintain with the deceased. I enjoyed reading this book and found myself unable to put it down when I got to the last few chaptersContinua...Nascondi
Continua...Nascondi

These were the lovely bones that had grown around my absence: the connections - sometimes tenuous, sometimes made out great cost, but often magnificent - that happended after I was gone. And I began to see things in a way that let me hold the world
... without me in it. The events that my death wrought were merely the bones of a body that would become whole at some unpredictable time in the future. The price of what I came to see as this miracolous body had been my life.Continua...Nascondi
