    La saga della hamilton è lunghissima, il mio preferito è sicuramente e al momento: il ballo della morte.
    La protagonista è fantastica, certo ogni tanto mi casca dal cuore ma è una vera dura.
    I vampiri sono molto più intercalati nella nostra realtà e sono dei gran fighi
    A chi piace il genere vampirico, questa è un'ottima saga.

    Rispetto ai precedenti, questo libro ha una stuttura abbastanza anomala.
    Fin qui, i romanzi di Anita Blake hanno uno schema: lei rifiuta un lavoro che non vuole assolutamente eseguire, viene chiamata sulla scena di un omicidio, si caccia in una serie di problemi e alla fine si scopre che le tre cose portano ad un'unica conclusione.
    Questo libro mescola un po' le carte. Il lavoro rifiutato c'è, ma per ragioni diverse dal solito (e infatti non viene tanto rifiutato quanto smistato altrove), l'omicidio anche, ed i problemi pure, ma contrariamente al solito, le tre cose sembrano collegate inizialmente e si scoprono non esserlo affatto verso la fine, risultando essere tre casi distinti e separati.
    Nel libro fanno da padrone non i vampiri ma i licantropi, Richard primo fra tutti. Ne vengono fuori come figure a tratti affascinanti ed a tratti deprimenti (che vogliano fare soldi con il porno è quasi ridicolo, anche se decisamente realistico).
    La trama è ben concertata, con vicende che si intrecciano e si sfiorano per poi dividersi. In alcuni tratti la storia diventa un po' confusa ma poi si riprende, fino al finale che non è tirato via come nel libro precedente ma dosato con cura, forse anche eccessiva.
    Inevitabile l'angolo del pignolo per segnalare due incongruenze nella trama, oltretutto nello stesso punto.
    Louie, il ratto mannaro, viene rapito da Elvira dopo aver fissato un incontro con lei... incontro che non doveva fissare, perché aveva detto che non ci avrebbe parlato lui ma avrebbe trovato qualcun altro. Per liberarlo, Anita scassina la porta posteriore della casa di Elvira. Pochi capitoli prima si era lamentata di non esserne capace.

Being familiar with the actual real-life settings of many of the scenes in the book really helps to make them all the more vivid.   • Just when you think you've read every kind of supernatural book, and nothing can surprise you anymore... Laurell K. Hamilton delivers again! This series gets progressively better with each book I read. I can't wait to read the next one.
