i'm always willing to read RAH in his own language, so i got this book. i have to say that from the start i've got the feeling that this would not be 'vintage' RAH. and it's not.
take for example "By His Bootstraps". under the literary point of view, it could be a masterpiece (the intricacy of the plot can be mindblowing). but after a third of it (or even before) you know exactly what's going on and you wonder how long is it going to last.
"the year of the jackpot" is weak. "columbus was a dope", at least, is quick, but not that much.
