This book was awesome! I was so enamored with this book I could not put it down. I'm tempted everyday to pick it up and read it again.
I would call it a monumental adaptation of the King Arthur legend. It's not your average fantasy book with powerful spells, epic wars etc., but a melancholic story about how the pagan religion of old Britain faded...
The story of King Arthur, from the point of view of the women. A huge, epic novel, well worth the effort. This is one that will stay on my bookshelf, to be read again someday.
I enjoyed the first two-thirds of this book immensely. I even went back and picked up an Arthurian Encyclopedia to brush up on all of the characters! But, I have to say, the last section of the book really dragged on. Much of it could have been cut as it was repetitive.
So...it's taking me forever to get through this book, though not for a lack of interest. I am enjoying it, but I just read bits and pieces at a time. I'll finish it eventually.
