It is the author's intention in this biography to examine all available material about her life and to present it in a clear, readable way. He wants to draw the full picture, including the often neglected but so important last years of her life, and ...
even of some reincarnations explicitly confirmed by the Mother herself. The Mother was born as Mirra Alfassa in Paris in 1872, and the first part of the book covers her life in France, and her inner experiences. In 1914 she went to Pondicherry and met Sri Aurobindo - then still the freedom fighter, Aurobindo Ghose. This was the turning point in her life. Though compelled to go back to France, she returned to Pondicherry in 1920, and never left again. She became the Mother of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in 1926. Together with Sri Aurobindo, she worked out their Integral Yoga for the descent of the Supramental Consciousness, the transformation of the human body and the Earth, the realisation of a new species and the establishment of the Life Divine in matter.
