The Next Decade
The future is brilliant. The present is awful. At least our grandsons will be happier than us...

This book is really interesting because it is a portrait on how the USA is behaving in a strategic way to keep its hegemonic power in
c power in the world, and it is paying the cost of it (lives, economic distress, etc.) The reality is that the country is doing well in the long run, but in the short term (say 10 to 50 years) there will be a lot of suffering. It makes me think if it is worth all the sacrifices for giving a better world for the generations to come, instead of trying to enjoy life now and here and not worry about our offspring. It is a very difficult dilemma, but the USA is just betting for the distant future, and letting the present be as awful as it is.
