I found this book very heavy going in parts as there is a lot of closely detailed argument - you would probably need to be working in the field to follow it all at first reading. That's why I felt I couldn't give it a '5' rating. The author gives time to explaining alternative viewpoints. The conclusions I found fascinating and he has something to say about (among other things):1. The status of "Celts" and "Celtic language"2. The genetic make up of Britain3. The reality of pre-Roman and post-Roman invasions.4. The origins of 'English' (;anguage) and it's affinities to other languages.Certainly it has given me a new perspective on things.
