  An insight into the madness industry in all it's forms. This isn't and isn't supposed to be a psychology textbook so readers who are expecting that should go elsewhere.   An insight into the madness industry in all it's forms. This isn't and isn't supposed to be a psychology textbook so readers who are expecting that should go elsewhere. The book is truly laugh out loud funny in places - listeners to This American Life will recognize some of the stories and will remember hearing Jon Ronson's distinctive voice reading these but other elements in the book are new. At times it is difficult reading as it forces us to examine our own delight in watching and reading about the madness of others who have just the 'right amount of madness'.
