I have just finished the first three in the Vampire Chronicles series. This is by far the best. A little gory but what do you expect. The story of the red twins is enough by itself. Imaginative explanation of what happened to create vampires. Nice break from Vlad - no mention of him. I am going to wait before reading The Tale of the Body Thief which is next....Continua
I'm usually pretty into supernatural and vampire books, but for some reason this one just did not impress me. The story was hard to follow, in part because it was told from so many different character points of view. Disappointing.
Unquestionably my favorite Anne Rice book to date. I just love how she created such a history for the vampires, describing how the first one came about thousands of years ago. And the very old one who has kept herself going by keeping a family tree and following her HUGE family for thousands of years intrigued me to no end....Continua
