Terrific novel. I enjoyed the subplots, that is the fact that even tho some are not tightly connected to the main story, they lead to very intense climax, as the one carrying on the love story. Setup relies on a very good hook, the rejection of the character's application from the law firm who will be casted as the antagonist in the development of the story. The very though issue, medical insurance frauds, is approached from a non-pathetic non-rhetoric point of view, that is from a very clever angle opening up more space for the reader to get really involved in the lower-class family drama. The happy ending, based on balanced mix of ability and luck is clever too.
