    As if there were any doubts about the atrocities perpetrated by the Republican government, here's an account of what they're doing to science: to stem cell research, to the environment, to endargened species, to the teaching of evolution, etc., while deriding people who live "in what we call the reality-based community," which consists of those who "believe that solutions emerge from judicious study of discernible reality." Science has never been more crucial to deciding the political issues facing the country. Yet science and scientists have less influence with the federal government than at any time since Richard Nixon fired his science advisors.
