With his unpleasant experience in Berlin during the years before WW2, it's understandable why Shirer is very opinionated in this book. Important piece of history
This is an excellent history book, covering the entire period from the early stages to the fall and aftermath of the Third Reich, with good analysis of the underlying forces at work along the way. This is something that should be read by everybody with an interest in history.
