It is a wonderful book for self improvement. It could be a eye-opener for those who haven't touched the topic of spiritual growth before. You may find a case or two that is similar to your own "problem", only varying in severity. It provides lot of foods of self reflection. Although this sounds obvious, we somehow always forget that it requires a genuine love to nurture a relationship - marriage, parenting, etc. Lack of love in childhood might have caused mental illness or psychological problems in adult times.
Probably because of my own personal (in)experience, the latter parts on grace and religion do not click on me. That said, the first part alone deserves my five stars rating.
I first read this book 5-6 years ago and it influenced my way of thinking. When I now read it as a father of two kids, I learn something else as a parent. This must be a book for regular re-reading.
