The Rosie Project

I was given this book and upon seeing it I though it was chick-lit, so I was a bit disappointed (actually, that is an understatement). Anyway, after a couple of weeks of having it sit on our shelf I thought I'd give it a try. after all, the giver does know my literary taste. I was so glad I'd picked it up. I had so much fun reading the story of Dr Don Tillman Professor PhD. I bet he'd find this redundant ;) His adventures and descriptions had me laughing out loud (in public places). I enjoyed the unique point of view of the narrator. A part from another book that can not be named for surprise purposes this is the only novel I know of with this type of a main character. Truly, truly enjoyable. I'll get extra copies as birthday presents for sure.

Nonostante non sia propriamente il mio genere, ho trovato questo libro davvero adorabile. Non siamo di fronte ad un classico romanzetto rosa. La storia è interessante (non si grida al capolavoro dì originalità, ma poco importa) ed il protagonista ancora di più. Ci troviamo di fronte ad una specie di Sheldon, ed è stato bello entrare nella mente di un personaggio simile. Finito in due giorni....assolutamente consigliato!!

The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion is about Don Tillman, who decides he needs a wife and sets about solving the “wife problem” in his own logical and analytical way. Along comes Rosie. Rosie does not meet many of the criteria Don identifies for his ideal mate, but there's something about Rosie...A sweet, funny romance with endearing characters and a message that "different" does not mean "less;" it just means "different."

Avendo avuto modo di conoscere una persona a me cara con questa sindrome (Asperger) non e' stato difficile per me apprezzare questa leggera lettura. Una condizione non facile che viene in questo libro "alleggerita" e descritta in modo tale da suscitare ilarità e divertimento . Consiglio di leggere questo libro tentando di mettersi nella posizione di ognuno dei protagonisti, sia per l'aspetto meramente romantico che per quello "umano/psichiatrico" relativo alla sindrome d'Asperger. Avrei preferito un finale piu' coerente... Libro leggero.
