Wonderful, wonderful autobiographical story of a child born and brought up to two cultures, German and Irish, it's about the coming to terms with the heritage of his family. The sailor is the grandfather whose past is hidden like a shame and because of that he's locked, actually his photographs and few belongings, kept secretly in the wardrobe. The child gets curious and curious about him and tries to bring him out from there. This attempt is aimed at himself too, he's growing up and needs to come forward.
It should be published together with The Speckled People.
