Based in the year 2054 where over 90% of adults never leave there houses and choose instead to control a robotic alias, the book has a great and very thought provoking story to anyone at home on the Internet.
It shows a world in which the ability to become someone completely different to your true self is brought out of cyberspace and into real life.
I personally found the art style very unique for a graphic novel, and brilliantly suiting to the story.
The art seems very rough and sketchy, but this all seems to add greatly to the idea that the people you see aren't completely real.
Between each chapter there are a number of extra supplements between chapters that add to the background of the story's world and characters.
Youll find posters for the company behind the surrogates, "Virtual Self", scans of police folders and websites that all give the story a brilliant touch of realism.
As the first comic written by Robert Venditti, this is a brilliant read that i highly suggest to anyone with an interest in sci-fi tales similar to that of i-robot, only with a much better story.
