The science & tech references are in the novel, just like his trademark. The actual story though is not bad, just not darn good either. It's alright.
Similar style of his recent sci-fi thriller, Prey. His sci-fi works were most of anti-science. Though he has done some research of the topic (computer), the story Crichton has provided somewhat extreme and in many ways that are against common senses. Through stirring the fear of the abuse of new scientific advancement, there aren't much persuasive facts but the crazy people that misuse the technology. Lot of deep critique on our way of living, social norms and a certain lawlessness in the progress of mankind. it was terrific and nowhere indicated by the aura of of the book when i started out. all we would think of is that its about a psychotic on the loose. but by the end Michael(may he rest in peace) has commented on parenting, politics in medicine and research and much more. i feel its one of the underrated novels of Michael....Continua
