The author of East Is East replays the tragi-comic meeting of representatives from two different cultures with nothing in common. This book calmly grabs hold with an unexpected suspense.

Overall I liked it. I felt the mexican immigrant closer to real a character than the american guy, going from 'liberal' to full blown conservative and racist in a few months, which I found a bit forced.
And the ending left me a bit disappointed,

This book depicts the struggles of an illegal immigrant and his wife. While the abrupt ending was good, I found myself wanting the story to be resolved, but it was probably better the way the author left it.
