From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nicholas Sparks comes the long-awaited follow-up to his classic tale of enduring love, The Notebook. After 30 years, Wilson Lewis, son-in-law to Noah and Allie (of The Notebook fame), is forced to admit that the romance has gone out of his marriage. Despite the shining example of his in-laws' 50-year love affair, Wilson himself is a man unable to express how he truly feels. With the distractions of his daughter's upcoming wedding he is forced to realize how close he is to losing his own wife Jane. But if Wilson is sure of anything, it's this: His love for his wife has only intensified over the years, and he wants nothing more than to make their marriage work. Now, with the memories of his in-laws' inspiring life together as his guide, Wilson pledges to find a way to make his wife fall in love with him...again.

  • This is the first novel I have read by this author, I enjoyed it so much that I shall look for others by him. It is a very romantic story and unusual because it is written by a male from the male point of view. Having been married a similar number of years myself i found it rather moving.

  • Another Great Nicholas Sparks Novel!

I loved "The Notebook" and I was excited to see the next chapter of Noah and Allie's lives- and their children.

It was a very wonderful and romantic story, with real feeling and oddly, a similar timeline to the one of my own family (my parent's 29th anniversary a few months from our own wedding).

I was touched by the story, and given ideas of how to rekindle the love and face what may become my own workaholic future, if I don't be careful!

  • Probably the most romantic book I've ever read - maybe too much so. 56 yr old guy realizes that his marriage has gone a little stale. He spends a year "courting" his wife again, culminating in the most unbelievable romantic gesture ever. Every married woman's ultimate dream.

  • By the time I've got to this book, I've grown pretty tired of Nicholas Spark's antiques. The plots generally go like this: isolation/absence of purpose, then passion and elation, then death or something else depressing.

As if I don't get enough of this drama in real life.
