I have read the author's previous book - The Hot Zone - which talks about Ebola virus.

This book is another one describing human's effort of combating one of the most fearsome diseases, the smallpox.

This book is another one describing human's effort of combating one of the most fearsome diseases, the smallpox.

The author is skillful in narrating the development of the disease on a human. While I was reading the book, I was imagining how it would feel like to have the symptoms on my own body. Pustulated and distended skins, dark red eyes, extra awareness just before you die of the disease... these are so scary... I'm glad smallpox has been eradicated!

This book read more like an thriller, but what it says inside really happened in the past. Smallpox is a potent biological weapon, I really hope no one is going to use it to kill others! ...Continua
