I tried reading this book in middle school and failed miserably.

This book is definitely for those whom are very patient. It can be slow at times, particularly the beginning, but the rewards are worth it. There were some instances were I would be thinking, "Why didn't they put this part in?" or "When do we finally get to this part from the movie?"

For how much I loved this book, I have to say, I wasn't in a hurry to read the second. I truly believe because at times, this book is work to read, like a textbook, and that can be daunting to the casual reader.

    • I saw the movie first which something I don't usually do. The book was different, but better. Favorite quote: "Courage is found in unlikely places, said Gildor."
