The story begins with a veteran's journey in search of a woman in a photo found in the dirt of the battlefront. With the photo like a lucky charm, he wins a lot in the card games and even survives the war where casualties are everyday events. Back home from the war in Iraq, after the accident during his vacation with his best friend Victor, who dies in the accident, he decides to set out on the travel, though he doesn't know what purpose of the trip would be. Perhaps, it's a good way to get away with the aftermaths of the war stuff. When it comes to war, nothing is more ridiculous and horrible than it. It will do no harm for him to look for a woman he never meets with no specific purpose. Then he makes it, meeting the woman and even falling in love with her. The revelation of the photo thing does bring to a climax, but nothing matters when true love surpasses everything else. Era da tanto che non leggevo un romanzo "rosa" talmente coinvolgente.
Sono stata travolta dalla vita di Beth , o meglio Elisabeth", e da quella di Logan Thibault,ex-marine.
Consiglio a chi mastica un pò di inglese, di leggerlo in lingua originale, in quanto il testo è molto scorrevole e il lessico davvero semplice, un'ottima occasione per tenersi allenati.
