Just like the characters in the book present themselves, bored, intelligent and dozed-off with too much money, I think the content of this book is to be processed between the lines; as the pages drip with cynicism and glibness, the people behind the words develop and function. I guess it says a lot about Ellis's writing that this kept me interested all the way to the end (this time) though pretty-much all of the characters were generally very unlikeable and there wasn't much in the way of plot. Quite possibly the worst book I have ever picked up with the exception of The Stand in my high school days.
