The good news is that both books succeed in holding the reader's interest over a couple hundred pages. Andru Reeve does this by bringing the participants in the great Paul-is-Dead hoax to life while chronicling the strange events that propelled the rumor. In addition, Andru Reeve comments on the theological elements of the story that took it beyond a mere death rumor and more toward legimate 20th century folklore. The first appendix is quite handy, as it list 140 of the so-called "clues" that college kids claimed could be found on Beatles record albums. Ah, the memories of my days at University of Michigan...
