A perfect collection for a perfect poet.

"MUCH madness is divinest sense
To a discerning eye;
Much sense the starkest madness.
'T is the majority
In this, as all, prevails.
Assent, and you are sane;
Demur, - you're straightway dangerous,
And handled with a chain."

Emily is a genius whose work should be savoured as it was written, in privacy. At the age of 23 she had become a recluse, spending many years without setting foot beyond her front door, and publishing none of her poems by her own consent during her lifetime, indeed only three or four appeared.

Emily is a genius whose work should be savoured as it was written, in privacy. At the age of 23 she had become a recluse, spending many years without setting foot beyond her front door, and publishing none of her poems by her own consent during her lifetime, indeed only three or four appeared.
Emily è un genio, la sua opera dovrebbe essere gustata in tutta riservatezza. All'età di 23 anni si era fatta reclusa in casa e aveva oltrepassato la soglia di casa solo raramente. Nessuno dei suoi scritti venne pubblicato mentre era in vita con il suo consenso. Di fatto solo due o tre di essi.
She was, however, no misanthrope or embittered spinster: "I find ecstacy in living" she wrote . "The mere sense of living is joy enough". Elsewhere she said: "To live is so startling, it leaves but little room for other occupations".
