    Betsy is having a really bad day. First she is laid off from her secretarial job. Then, while chasing down her ungrateful cat, she is hit and killed by a truck. To top that off, she awakens three days later to find herself wearing a tacky pink suit, bad shoes and she's risen from the dead and is now a vampire. Her first stop, after changing her clothes, is to her father and step-mothers house to retrieve her stolen designer shoes back. (Girl after my own heart.) The story gets funny when she is told that she is The Queen of the Vampires. Trust me, after reading about Betsy for awhile you will see why this funny.

    This first book in the series is a fluffy, entertaining, light read. Betsy has a love of shoes that I think rivals my own. And she does what a lot of us seem to do when someone makes us mad- we deliberately mess up their names as a passive-aggressive way to make them mad for making us mad.

  • First in the series

  • Goofy female vampire series - definitely more comedy than horror. I had some fun with it, but it didn't pull me in like some of the similar series have - it has been a few years since I read this, and I haven't felt the need to continue with the series.

  • Rather entertaining entry into the niche market for those who read romance novels about vampires. Decently written, funny and light with a bit of action thrown in. A bit much on the sex side, but that can't be avoided. Recommended to those who want a quick, light read.

De secretaria desempleada a Reina de los no muertos...

Fue una pésima semana para Betsy Taylor. Primero, perdió su trabajo. Luego, para colmo de males, muere en un accidente automovilístico. Pero lo que realmente la corroe (además de despertarse en la morgue vestida con un traje rosado y zapatos baratos, cortesía de su madrastra) es que no parece estar muerta. Todas las noches ella se levanta, con un horrible anhelo de sangre. No está tomando demasiado bien esa dieta líquida.

Lo peor de todo, es que sus nuevos amigos tienen la ridícula idea de que Betsy es la vaticinada Reina de los vampiros, y quieren su ayuda para derrocar al más detestable y poderosamente hambriento vampiro en cinco siglos... un mal vestido aspirante de Bela Lugosi. Francamente, a Betsy no puede preocuparle menos la política de los vampiros, pero ellos tienen una poderosa arma de persuasión: zapatos de diseño. ¿Cómo puede cualquier chica que se precie de tal decir que no? Pero una colección de Ferragamos no es la única tentación para Betsy. Sólo que eso es mucho más seguro que el delicioso Sinclair... un seductor chupasangre cuya mirada sensual parece tan peligrosa como una estaca en el corazón...
