I enjoyed how the characters unfolded. Rose could be a typical girl from nowhere, working to be more responsible. The way the majority of adults dismiss her out of hand reminds me of my teenage years, where no one takes you seriously and all attempts to assert your independence result in disaster (generally because of how the adults react to your actions).

Lissa is the opposite: rich, old family, and greatness is expected from her. She is also striving for the same goal: responsibility.

Rose is the unlikely friend, who finds that sometimes a true friend is more of a keeper than your buddy.

There is a hard truth: duty over emotional attachment. How can you separate your personal life from your business, if your boss is your best friend? It makes life choices very hard.

In the end, only you can make the choice, because you are the one that has to look at yourself in the mirror every morning.
