While I don't support graffiti, I checked out this book because I do support Banksy's outlook on society and government. He puts so many contradictions together that makes you re-examine your view of the world; rioters throwing flowers, soldiers drawing peace symbols, army helicopters with pink bows, starving children with Burger King paper crowns, policemen spray painting a wall and I could go on and on. I really liked one of Banksy's quotes when he said:
"It takes a lot of guts to stand up anonymously in a western democracy and call for things no-one else believes in - like peace and justice and freedom." (pg. 29)...Continua
The people who truly deface our neighbourhoods are the companies that scrawl giant slogans across buildings and buses trying to make us feel inadequate unless we buy their stuff. They expect to be able to shout their message in your face from every available surface but you're never allowed to answer back. Well, they started the fight and the wall is the weapon of choice to hit them back....Continua
It's not like there is a lot to read here, but if you like Banksy you're gonna love it.
